Discovery Behavioral Health, a national provider of various behavioral health treatments, has acquired Authentic Recovery Center (ARC), a behavioral health provider that specializes in treatment of drug and alcohol abuse.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Based in Orange County, California, Discovery offers residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment for conditions related to substance abuse, mental health and eating disorders in teens and adults. As of April, the company had 77 treatment centers in 11 states, according to a past Discovery press release.
Meanwhile, West Los Angeles-based ARC offers medically managed detox, inpatient detox, residential treatment, continuing care, intensive outpatient, outpatient rehab, aftercare and dual diagnosis treatment for drug and alcohol abuse. Accredited by the Joint Commission, ARC has at least two locations in the Los Angeles area.
“Since addiction is such a complex and multifaceted disease, no two treatment plans should be exactly alike,” Joe Tinervin, division president at Discovery Behavioral Health, said in a press release announcing the news. “ARC offers a variety of options that are designed to meet the individual needs of each client.”
The deal marks Discovery’s second acquisition in the substance abuse space in less than a month.
In October, the company acquired Pasadena, Maryland-based New Life Addiction Counseling & Mental Health Services, an outpatient facility that provides substance abuse, addiction and mental health treatment.
Financial terms of that deal were not disclosed either.
