Walnut Creek, California-based speech therapy provider Speech Pathology Group (SPG) has reached a deal to acquire CAC, a Southern California-based autism services provider of applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapies.

CAC, which operates three centers in the San Diego area, was founded in 2008 by board certified behavioral analyst (BCBA) Andrea Macken. Macken is currently the president of CAC, and her husband, Chris, is vice president.

Boston-based healthcare M&A advisory firm Provident Healthcare Providers was the sellside advisor selected by the Mackens to assist them in their goals of expanding their reach in the autism services market.

“This transaction will give the Mackens and the entire CAC team the resources to take their industry leading approach to ABA therapy and impact far more families in Southern California and beyond,” Robert Aprill, a senior advisor at Provident, added in the press release.

“Andrea and the clinical team at CAC have worked to create a gold standard of care in the industry, and with Ridgemont’s help, will look to shape the future of the industry in an incredibly positive way,” Aprill said.
