Behavioral Health Network Names Next Chief As CEO Announces Retirement

Katherine Wilson, who has been the only CEO of Springfield, Massachusetts-based Behavioral Health Network (BHN) since its formation in 1992, has announced that she will retire from the organization in June.

Steven Winn, who has been with BHN since 1995 and has served as its chief operating officer since 2017, will become the organization’s new CEO.

The largest behavioral health care services organization in western Massachusetts, BHN provides mental health, addiction recovery and intellectual/developmental disability services to adults, children and families across 40 locations.

Wilson began her career in psychotherapy and served as a private practice family therapist before joining the state’s department of mental health.

From there, she joined a BHN predecessor organization, Community Care Mental Health Center, and played a leadership role in its merger with three other regional nonprofits — Child Guidance Clinic, the Agawam Counseling Center and the Hampden District Mental Health Clinic — to form BHN.

Today, BHN has an annual budget over $115 million.
