Welldoc Adds Behavioral Solution to Its Digital Health Platform

Welldoc — a digital health platform focused on chronic care management — has expanded its offerings to include behavioral health. The new program will complement Welldoc’s existing digital health solutions for diabetes, hypertension, heart failure and diabetes prevention.

Founded in 2005, Welldoc works to streamline relationships between payers, employers and health care systems. The ultimate goal is to improve population health and reduce the cost of chronic diseases.

Welldoc’s new behavioral health offering is “designed to help users develop skills to solve real-world problems in a structured way,” according to a press release announcing the news.

It helps users identify problems, then build strategies and action plans to address them, all while receiving the support to do so. The solution can also help users improve social skills and sleep, while reducing anxiety and helping users build other useful skills.

“By applying our extensive experience modifying behaviors for large populations of users that are self-managing chronic conditions, we are adding a level of clinical rigor to our program not often found in today’s digital health solutions,” Keith Reynolds, COO at Welldoc, said in the press release.

Reynolds said the expansion will add value for partners looking to deploy comprehensive population health solutions for chronic conditions.

“With COVID creating new challenges for healthcare providers and payors, now more than ever our clients and members need the support of our single platform for holistic chronic condition management,” he said.
