Banyan Treatment Centers Launches New Program for Eating Disorders

Banyan Treatment Centers formed its first eating disorder treatment program, announcing last week that it rolled out at a Banyan site in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

While presently limited to one facility, the Pompano Beach, Florida-based addiction treatment and mental health provider’s approach calls for providing a full spectrum of treatment to meet a patient’s individual needs.

The eating disorder treatment program will be offered on an outpatient basis, according to a news release from the company.

Founded in 2013, the company now operates 20 locations in California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Earlier this month, Banyan Treatment Centers named Dr. Darrin Mangiacarne its chief medical officer. The company opened a new facility in Waelder, Texas in February.

Located in the southeastern part of the state, Banyan Texas is a 70-acre facility that provides drug and alcohol detoxification and residential addiction treatment services. The services are geared toward dual diagnosis patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders. The facility also provides therapies for families in addition to patients.

Banyan Texas contains 20 fully furnished guest suites across four lodges.

Banyan Treatment Centers also claims to be one of the largest privately-owned drug and alcohol and mental health addiction treatment centers in the U.S.

The company has yet to respond to a request for further comment about what role eating disorder treatment will play in the company’s other facilities.
