SimiTree Acquires Infinity Behavioral Health as it Expands Into Market

Post-acute consulting and services firm SimiTree Healthcare Consulting is expanding into the behavioral health space through its acquisition of Infinity Behavioral Health Services LLC.

King of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based SimiTree said in a news release that combining with Infinity Behavioral Health Services helps the firm become a one-stop shop for financial, clinical, and operational services for post-acute health care organizations.

Infinity Behavioral Health Services, which has offices in California and Florida, provides billing, insurance collections, utilization management and consulting services for behavioral health organizations.

“This strategic combination allows both SimiTree and Infinity to fully realize the synergies of working together to improve cash flow, increase collection rates and strengthen the revenue cycle for the benefit of behavioral health agencies,” SimiTree Managing Principal Mike Freytag said in a news release.

Infinity Behavioral Health Services CEO and Founder Eloy Paez will move into a leadership role within SimiTree. Paez has been with the company since 2013 after Infinity merged with another firm called Treatment Concepts, a company Paez founded.

Chicago-based private equity firm Sheridan Capital Partners announced its investment into SimiTree in May 2021. Simitree is also owned in part by its management team.

SimiTree itself was formed in May 2021 following the merger of the firms Simione Healthcare Consultants and BlackTree Healthcare Consulting. SimiTree provides outsourced revenue cycle management services and consulting for the home health, hospice, applied behavioral analysis, and palliative care sectors.

This deal is the second that SimiTree has made in 2022. Earlier in the month, SimiTree announced its acquisition of Miami-based Imark Billing as part of its strategic expansion of revenue cycle services.

“The strategic combination with Infinity is another exciting move forward as SimiTree continues to secure its role as the post-acute industry leader in services and solutions,” Sean Dempsey, a partner with Sheridan Capital Partners, said in the release. “”SimiTree’s rapid expansion reflects the increasing need in the post-acute industry for the mix of services we provide to better align business with care.”
