Transformations Care Network, an East Coast-based network of mental health providers, has expanded its footprint in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania with the purchase of Columbia Associates in Psychiatry and New Directions Counseling Services.
With the acquisitions, Transformations now operates over 25 clinics across Massachusetts, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. Transformations also operates the brands Northeast Health Services, InterCare Psychiatric Services, Harmony and Roots.
“As part of Transformations Care Network, we will be able to provide more access to care for people that are looking to enact change in their lives, and make sure that our clinicians and staff have the tools and resources to help our clients achieve their goals,” Dr. Michael Schneider, founder of New Directions Counseling Services, said in a press release issued by Transformations.
Headquartered in Boston, Transformations is backed by Shore Capital Partners and focuses on outpatient care for a variety of conditions such as anxiety and depression, as well as more severe ailments like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and more.
Schneider will become Transformations’ market president for Pennsylvania as part of the transaction.
Transformations’ is adding four more clinics into its fold through the with the purchase of Columbia Associates in Psychiatry, which serves the Washington, D.C.-area at locations in Maryland and Virginia.
Columbia Associates in Psychiatry is billed as the largest and oldest provider of psychiatric care to adults, adolescents and children in the D.C.-area. Along with a range of psychiatric services for conditions like anxiety and mood disorders, Columbia Associates in Psychiatry provides transcranial magnetic stimulation and esketamine therapies.

Terms of Transformations’ acquisitions of Columbia Associates in Psychiatry and New Directions Counseling Services were not disclosed.
