Ophelia Adds to C-Suite; Brightline Taps New Chief Clinical Officer

Ophelia adds new CCO, COO

Digital substance use disorder provider Ophelia is shaking up its C-suite with a new chief commercial officer and a new chief operating officer. The New York-based provider announced that Alexandra Minarik is joining the team as CCO and Chris Sharon will be its next COO.

Before joining Ophelia, Minarik served as the executive director for the digital behavioral health company Babylon. Her experience also includes a position as vice president of growth for Evolent Health.

Meanwhile, Sharon previously served as senior vice president of care delivery and operations at Omada Health.

“We’re honored to welcome Lexie and Chris to the Ophelia team,” Zack Gray, Ophelia co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Both will have an immediate impact as we work to make lifesaving treatment accessible to more patients, especially those in underserved rural and Medicaid populations who need us most.”

Ophelia provides digital medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD). It is licensed to provide care in 36 states and is contracted with Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial insurance.

Amae names new senior clinical director

Serious mental illness (SMI) startup Amae Health has named Whitley Lassen its new senior clinical director. In her new role, she will oversee “whole person care delivery with an emphasis on wellness and recovery,” according to a company release.

Before joining the Amae team, Lassen served as the clinical director of mental health services at K Health, an AI-powered triage and primary care company.

A clinical psychologist by training, Lassen has served at several behavioral health-focused organizations. Her experience includes clinical director or Psych Hub and behavioral health lead at Centura Health.

Los Angeles-based Amae is an SMI provider focused on caring for patients using a holistic model to unify fragmented parts of the health care sector. It seeks to give patients behavioral health care, primary care and community support.

Brightline names new chief clinical officer

Myra Altman is joining the team at Brightline as chief clinical officer.

She previously worked at Modern Health, where she held a number of roles, including vice president of clinical strategy and research, vice president of clinical care and head of clinical care.

Founded in 2019, Brightline is a virtual pediatric behavioral provider. It has raised just under $220 million in the capital.

Talkiatry taps new medical director and CFO

Virtual psychiatry and therapy company Talkiatry announced the addition of Dr. Allison Holt as medical director and Todd Yu as chief financial officer.

A psychiatrist by training, Holt previously served as the physician chief of the mental health and addiction service line at M Health Fairview. She was also the vice chair of clinical affairs at the University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry.

“Talkiatry strives to provide the best possible psychiatric care by extending accessibility and increasing affordability for our patients,” Robert Krayn, CEO and co-founder of Talkiatry, said in a statement. “With Dr. Holt and Todd Yu in the fold, we add two highly capable experts who will improve our care delivery while we grow to meet the mental health needs of more and more people across the country.”

Meanwhile, Yu is coming to Talkitry after serving as CFO for Upward Health. He also served as vice president of finance at The Gersh Organization.

New York-based Talkitry is a telepsychiatry startup. It closed a $37 million funding round in 2022.

Northpoint Recovery Holding names new CEO

Northpoint Recovery Holdings LLC has named Krista Gilbert its next CEO. In this role, she is expected to help the provider grow into new and existing markets.

Before this appointment, she was the CEO of Constellation Behavioral Healthcare, Michael’s House and Alta Mira Treatment Program. She also held a senior management position at Foundations Recovery Network.

“Krista is a proven leader and her vision for both our full-continuum of care treatment delivery model for adult substance use disorder and adolescent mental healthcare makes her a superb fit for Northpoint and our mission,” Davis Griffin, chairman of Northpoint, said in a statement.

Northpoint is a behavioral health provider with 15 adult inpatient and outpatient facilities in Idaho, Washington, Colorado and Nebraska. Northpoint is a portfolio company of Atigun Capital Partners and Empeiria Capital Management.
