Alaska Psychiatric Institute Names Interim CEO

The Alaska Psychiatric Institute (API) has a new interim CEO.

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) appointed Noel Rea to the position earlier this month. She brings 30 years of experience, which includes being a senior director at NetworxHealth and serving as an interim CEO for several other Alaska hospitals.

Anchorage, Alaska-based API is a state psychiatric hospital that provides inpatient and outpatient mental health services. The hospital was given a “notice of termination” from CMS last September due to federal compliance requirements, but CMS has since deemed API back “in substantial compliance.”

Rea takes over for John Lee, who was serving as acting CEO. He will return to his role as director of the Senior and Disabilities Services Division, the department wrote in a news release.

DHSS will continue its search for a permanent CEO.
