Psychiatric Medical Care Adds Acadia Alum as New CFO

Psychiatric Medical Care, a behavioral health management company, has added a new CFO.

Bob Zagerman, who most recently served as the operations CFO at Acadia Healthcare (NASDAQ: ACHC), stepped into the role, PMC announced. Zagerman has nearly 30 years of experience in behavioral health finance.

Nashville, Tennessee-based PMC is one of the largest mental health management companies with a focus on rural and underserved markets. It partners with more than 250 facilities in 26 states to help providers open mental health programs. It manages inpatient behavioral health units, intensive outpatient programs and telehealth services to evaluate and treat patients for depression, anxiety, mood disorders, memory problems, post-traumatic stress disorder and other behavioral health problems.

Amid the pandemic, PMS has made “significant investments for growth” according to CEO J.R. Greene.

“Our growth has created several new positions on our executive leadership team as our inpatient division and human resources teams expand,” he said in a press release announcing the news.

In addition to adding a new CFO, PMC also recently announced the hiring of two new vice presidents, as well as a new board member.

Dustin Davis — a former market CEO for Springstone Mental Health Facilities in Houston, Texas, who has 20 years of executive health care management experience — was hired as vice president of inpatient operations, while Maggie Music — who has 15 years of health care experience — was hired as vice president of human resources. 

Brent Turner, the former President of Acadia, was brought on as PMC’s newest board member.
