Digital Mental Health Provider Resilience Lab Begins Multi-State Expansion, Taps New Director to Lead Effort

Digital mental health platform Resilience Lab is expanding services in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, with plans to grow to nine Northeast states this year.

New York-based Resilience is now available to 33 million tri-state area residents, with access open to residents who are in-network with UnitedHealthcare and Humana.

To lead its growth, Resilience has tapped Dr. Hannah Weisman to be its director of geographic expansion.

Weisman is a clinical psychologist with experience in community-based mental health and integrated care settings. In her new role, Weisman will help Resilience navigate state licensure matters for expanding into new markets and scaling the company’s operations.

“Resilience Lab has already made remarkable progress toward its goal of expanding rapidly into new states to address the therapist shortage and promote broad access to quality mental healthcare,” Weisman said in a press release issued by the company. “This way it can effect significant, positive change in the way mental health care is provided, viewed and accessed by all Americans.”

Founded in 2019, Resilience Lab employs 130 New York-based clinicians and is currently hiring in New Jersey and Connecticut.

Individuals interested in signing up with Resilience are provided with two therapists upon filling out a profile, after which they are scheduled for a free consultation and are processed for services. The company has completed over 50,000 therapy sessions since its inception.

The company also operates Resilience Institute, a continuing education curriculum for experienced and newly-minted clinicians including mental health counselors, psychologists and social workers. The Institute’s curriculum is centered on the Resilience Methodology – which is the company’s proprietary clinical framework – and offers courses on a variety of conditions such as trauma, addiction, race, as well as mood and anxiety.

“Resilience Lab is on a mission to remove barriers that keep millions of Americans from getting the mental health support they need,” Christine Carville, the co-founder and chief clinical officer of Resilience Lab, said in the press release. “Our expansion efforts aim to make high-quality therapy and measurement based care affordable and accessible whether a patient is in- or out-of-network, or not insured at all.”
