CleanSlate finds CMO

Dr. Claudie Jimenez has been promoted to chief medical officer at outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) provider CleanSlate Centers.

Jimenez will now oversee CleanSlate’s medical initiatives, including all behavioral health programs. She is tasked with leading the integration of behavioral health counselors and medical providers to drive holistic treatment.

CleanSlate was founded in 2009. It offers integrated MAT for substance use disorder and behavioral health therapies. It offers services in 10 states.

“Dr. Jimenez’s passion to serve our patient population is critical to CleanSlate Centers as we continue to combat the nation’s substance use epidemic through our holistic treatment approach,” CleanSlate’s CEO Chris Bove said in a statement. “Her expertise is vital as we expand her role to include oversight of our behavioral health initiatives, giving our patients the best hope of success on their recovery journey.”

Jimenez has worked for CleanSlate for more than five years. Her previous roles at CleanSlate include senior vice president of medical operations, regional medical director and area medical director.

Before coming to CleanSlate she served as the medical director for Harlem East Life Plan.

Cognoa taps CMO as next CEO

Pediatric behavioral health company Cognoa has tapped Dr. Sharief Taraman as its next CEO.

Taraman previously served as the company’s chief medical officer. In this role, he helped lead clinical evidence generation, which resulted in an FDA breakthrough designation for the company’s autism detection and diagnosis tool – Canvas Dx.

He is now tasked with leading the company as it looks to commercialize Canvas Dx.

Before joining Cognoa, Taraman served as the division chief of pediatric neurology at Children’s Health of Orange County. He also serves on a number of boards including AAP-California and the American Academy of Pediatrics-Orange County Chapter. He continues to serve as an associate clinical professor at the University of California-Irvine School of Medicine.

Palo Alto, California-based Cognoa created a digital artificial intelligence tool that helps providers diagnose autism in children from ages 18 months to 72 months.

The company has landed a total of $127 million in funding, led by Morningside.

AMFM Healthcare promotes Ted Guastello to CEO 

Orange County, California-based AMFM Healthcare promoted Ted Guastello to CEO.

Gustello joined the company in 2020 as chief strategy officer. In this role, he helped the company expand into Washington and Virginia.

His work also centered around transforming AMFM’s programs to accommodate patients during the pandemic, according to a press release. Specifically, he kicked off the development of the company’s telehealth platform – Mission Connection.

AMFM provides residential and outpatient services for patients living with mental health and substance use disorder. It has facilities in Southern California, Washington and Virginia.

As CEO, he will now lead the opening of adolescent mental health service program Mission prep, which is slated to open in early 2023.

Field Trip Announces new general counsel and VP of integrated health 

Field Trip Health & Wellness has named Stacey Hoisak as its next senior vice president and general counsel, and Dr. Monique Moller as its new vice president of integrative health.

Field Trip Health is a psychedelic therapy company. It is publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Field Trip has 12 clinics in North America and Europe. The company has previously teamed up with digital mental health company Cerebral on a mutual referral program.

A corporate and securities attorney by training, Hoisak previously served as CEO, chief legal officer and chief privacy officer at Coinsquare. Her resume also includes general counselor roles at Birch Hill Equity Partners and Alpha Exchange.

Moller was previously a staff physician at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and the Substance Use Service at Women’s College Hospital.

“The addition of Stacey and Monique’s diverse skill sets will effectively round out our executive team and support the execution of our broadened, holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing, which integrates medicine, technology, and community to help people become free from depression and anxiety,” Ronan Levy, chairman and CEO of Field Trip, said in a statement.
